Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Kutflow collects, why we use it, who processes it, and the choices you have when turning raw footage into finished videos.

1. Plain-language summary

Your footage belongs to you. We process it only to provide, secure, support, and improve Kutflow as described here.

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use your videos to train third-party general-purpose AI models. Kutflow may learn from product signals—such as clips you restore, edits you make, and exports you approve—to improve its own cutting system.

2. Information we collect

Account and contact data

Email address, username, account identifiers, authentication events, and messages you send us. Password authentication is handled by Supabase; Kutflow does not receive your plaintext password.

Creator content

Videos, audio, images used as overlays, transcripts, word timestamps, suggested cuts, restored or removed clips, captions, editing settings, exported videos, titles, and related project metadata.

Billing data

Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, plan, payment status, purchase amount, and billing history. Stripe collects and processes full payment-card details; Kutflow does not store full card numbers or security codes.

Technical and usage data

IP address, browser and device information, session data, timestamps, request and error logs, processing status, feature interactions, and security signals. We currently use only service-essential storage and authentication technologies, not third-party advertising cookies.

3. How we use information

  • Provide authentication, uploads, transcription, AI-assisted cut selection, editing, rendering, storage, downloads, billing, and support.
  • Detect failures, abuse, fraud, security incidents, and violations of our Terms.
  • Measure reliability and improve Kutflow, including using de-identified or aggregated performance data and creator-approved workflow signals.
  • Send transactional messages such as verification, password reset, billing, security, and service notices.
  • Meet tax, accounting, legal, and regulatory obligations and enforce our agreements.

Where applicable, our legal bases are performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing Kutflow, compliance with law, and consent where the law requires it.

4. AI processing and improvement

Kutflow sends the audio or relevant content from your upload to OpenAI API services for transcription and semantic analysis, then uses the resulting timestamps and decisions to create a cut. OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default unless the customer opts in. Kutflow has not opted in for your content.

When you change a cut or export a project, we may retain structured feedback—such as timestamps, cut reasons, and whether a suggestion was accepted—to evaluate and improve Kutflow. We do not claim ownership of your footage, and we do not publicly disclose it as training material.

5. Service providers and disclosures

We disclose only what is reasonably needed to vendors acting for us: Supabase (database, authentication, and object storage), OpenAI (transcription and analysis), Google Cloud Run (video processing and rendering), Stripe (checkout, subscriptions, and billing), Resend (transactional email), and our web-hosting and operational infrastructure. These providers process data under their own agreements and privacy terms.

We may also disclose information when required by law; to protect users, Kutflow, or the public; in connection with a financing, merger, acquisition, or sale, subject to appropriate protections; or at your direction. We do not sell personal information.

6. Retention and deletion

  • Abandoned or subscription-locked uploads: generally deleted after 24 hours.
  • Source videos: generally deleted about 7 days after upload.
  • Exports: generally deleted after 30 days unless you select the in-product option to retain an export.
  • Project records, transcripts, cut decisions, account, billing, security, and support records: retained while needed to provide Kutflow and for legitimate legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, and dispute purposes.

Deleting a project removes its associated project media through the product workflow. Residual copies may remain briefly in backups or logs before rotating out. We may retain de-identified information that can no longer reasonably identify you.

7. Security

We use access controls, encrypted network transport, private server credentials, row-level database policies, and restricted storage paths. No system is perfectly secure; protect your password and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access.

8. International transfers

Kutflow is operated from the United States and uses providers that may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on recognized transfer mechanisms and contractual protections. Local privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

9. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of personal information, withdraw consent, or appeal a denied request. California residents may also request the categories and specific pieces of information collected and disclosure details, and may exercise rights without discriminatory treatment. Kutflow does not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, so no opt-out is presently necessary.

You can delete individual projects in the Projects tab. For account-level requests, email privacy@kutflow.app. We may verify your identity before acting. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

10. Children

Kutflow is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. You must be at least 18, or the age of legal majority where you live, to create an account or purchase a subscription. If we learn that we collected a child’s information contrary to this policy, we will delete it.

11. Content involving other people

If you upload content containing another person’s face, voice, personal information, copyrighted material, or confidential information, you are responsible for having permission and providing legally required notices. Do not upload highly sensitive personal information that is unnecessary for editing.

12. Policy updates

We may update this policy as Kutflow or the law changes. We will post the updated date and provide additional notice when required. Material changes apply prospectively unless the law permits otherwise.
